Hi, my name is Michelle Southern
and I’m a Certified Eating Disorder
Recovery Coach. I am located on
the beautiful Gold Coast and I work
with clients both in-person and online
from all over Australia.
Eating disorders present themselves in
a variety of ways, they are as unique
as each individuals life story. If you're
having a daily battle with how you
perceive food and/or your body,
you have come to the right place.
My goal is to help you break free of the disordered behaviours and thoughts that are controlling your life. Both my education and personal experience make me committed and qualified to help you change your behaviours and build life skills you can apply throughout your life.
I was trapped in my own eating disorder for over ten years and understand how difficult and helpless the recovery process can feel. I am proud to say that I have been recovered and free from my eating disorder for 15 years and am living proof that full recovery is possible!
I will help you transform your relationship with food, your body and with yourself, so that you can live a life full of authenticity, fulfilment and happiness which I truly believe is possible for each and every one of us.

I am 42 years old and had been struggling with accepting my body and an eating disorder for the last 25 years before I met Michelle.
Food and weight obsession, yoyo dieting, bulimia, orthorexia and body dysmorphia had been the constant theme in my life and my never ending battle. I had tried everything, gone to counselling, support groups, read countless books on eating disorders and diets, but I could still never feel free around food. I thought I had a sugar addiction, that I was broken and that I would always live life on survival mode, trying to hide my struggles from others.
When I hit rock bottom after another failed attempt at a crash diet that left me binging and purging, I decided to go online and look for a recovery coach. I realized that I couldn’t get better on my own and needed help.
Michelle met me right where I was at and challenged me weekly with so much kindness and gentleness that I felt I could reach each small goal that led me to feeling free around food today. She helped me to trust my body again and figure out what food worked well for me to feel good. She encouraged me to move my body in a way that feels good and I found so much joy in appreciating what my body could do for me rather than how it looked. She has been the kind voice I needed to teach me to accept and appreciate my body, be kind to myself and find joy and peace around food again.
After a few months of working with her, my life has completely changed in a way I never thought was possible. My mind is finally free to focus on all the things I want to develop and pursue in my life now that I don t have to think about food and my weight all the time. I am more present for my family and friends. I am forever grateful for her heart, her passion and enthusiasm, her openness and compassion.
